The short answer is to clean off .net 3.0 and then install the latest one from Microsoft.

Hi, I'm another unhappy guy that, trying to install the just purchased Nero Multimedial Suite 10, have found the same error blocking the installation.
I have moved in the site you have suggested, but the ".NET Framework Setup Cleanup Utility" is no more available:

"404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."

In spite of this, the "Disk Cleanup Tool" has brought me to download the program "Registry Mechanic" that starts immediately (after its installation) to check the registry of the PC, founding hundreds of problems; as I have tried to check for the .NET situation, the programs says that it already has corrected the first 6 problems and that it need to be registered (about 30 Euro) to correct the other problems.

So, in addition to the Nero Multimedia Suite 10 costs I have to add other 30 Euros to "try" to have Nero operating?

I will not discuss Registry Mechanic with any kind words. The forums are full of folk with issues from that title. I will not honor it or help with it other than write "get rid of that."

Back to the .net issue. If the tool link has moved I suggest you use google to find it again.

I removed all Microsoft .NET Framework starting from the 2.0, then I reinstalled each of them (2.0 - 2.5 - 3.0 - 3.5) after their download from the "Microsoft .NET Framework download" site.

After the cleaning, performed with the tool, and every installation I had to reboot the PC (five reboots).

Then I tried the Nero installation, and it WORKED! Now Nero Multimedia Suite 10 runs smoothly on my PC!

But just so you know, many of us only need one or two of the .net versions. Your method is fine but a little overkill for some.

Nero's website has a workaround on there support page that addresses this issue that my be somewhat easier than removing all Microsoft.NET Framework installs. Here's the link.
