Nov 24, 2004 10:17AM PST

I am running Windows XP with SP2...I have Microsoft Works with Word 2002 now, but am planning on installing MS Office 2000...(Works is awful..!)..The question is, should I uninstall the present Works and Word first...???

meanejean,

Since Office 2000 contains an older version of Word, it would be best if you uninstalled Works.

Hope this helps.

When You Install Any New Version Of Office
Nov 24, 2004 12:30PM PST

...it will automatically ask to uninstall previous versions of Office products. In your case, because you have a newer version of Word installed, it may not do that. I believe uninstalling Works first is your best bet.

Glad we could help.
