Installing game software

May 17, 2004 1:14PM PDT

Bob, I found 2 .BAT files: XINSTALL.BAT and PLAY.BAT
@echo off
echo QuickINSTALL
echo =======
X copy *.* C:\game\cchess\ /e
c:
cd\game\cchess
cls
echo QuickINSTALL
echo=====
echo type "play" to play game

Another .BAT file

@echo off
echo
echo password is "AAA"
echo
echo press any key to start the game
pause>nul
ch.exe
Are this the file you need?

The first install bat file you can DO IT YOURSELF and copy the files to the directory c:game\cchess

Now make a shortcut to CH.EXE and try that.

If this doesn't work, then the game is too old to run on the OS you have.

Explore to the place the files are. Highlight the ones you want and click Edit, Copy. Explore to where you want the files and click Edit, Paste.

Hope this helps,

How to make a shortcut (most Windows)
May 17, 2004 11:00PM PDT

Explore to the directory you want to have a shortcut to some item. Arrange the Explorer window so you can see the desktop off to one side.

Click the file/item and drag it to the desktop, don't let go of the mouse button. Now press and hold both the Shift and Control keys, then release the mouse button to drop and create the new shortcut on the desktop.

Hope this helps,

Bob

You'll have to contact the author to see if they fixed it for use on the OS you are now using.

I can't offer you a cure for this issue other than playing the game on the OS it was meant for.
