While any guess may be a bad one, I did see that insert floppy message if the RECENT DOCUMENTS has a reference to Drive A:. Workaround? Clear the RECENT DOCUMENTS list.

The game name is CCHESS - for Chinese Chess. There are no recent Documents. It pop up a message ask to insert Floppy Disket. MS-DOS kind of thing.

How? I am not very good on this!
Can I copy the game programme from CD-ROM to Floppy Disk?

I think you are right.

There are old game collections on CD that require people to "know" how to copy to diskette for the install to work.

While you supplied the name of the game, I didn't find it's home page so I'm (again) having to guess about it. I've run into this issue before and solutions are to rewrite the .BAT file to have it install better or to put it on floppy since that was the media of that day.

I'm blindfolded in a room with no light.

And you've asked me to rewrite a .BAT file that I've never seen.

I sit quietly and plot my escape.

Re:I think you are right.- copy from CD-ROM to diskette

I select the CCHESS folder in CD-ROM, right click select send to A drive, it copy the programme to Floppy disk in two diskettes. but when installing the game by putting in the Floppy disk to A drive in MS-DOS, the same blue screen message appeared again. asking to insert game diskette #1 in A drive. Did I miss any step when i do the copy????

Beyond me to research at this time however, type 'CCHESS Install' in a Google search to come up with around 400 possible comments to solutions.

The issue is simple.

You have the .BAT file, but didn't share it here.

As such, you are left to find the answer on your own. This can be a lonely way to work on this.

Sorry Bob. I don't know where to find the .BAT file???

You have the files that belong to the game.

At this point you should have a list of what files are on the install CD/Diskette.

If not, it would appear that you need to dig in.
