Installing Fedora in SATA drive of laptop as dual OS

by imaudi / August 4, 2006 9:35 AM PDT

I recetnly purchased a Compaq presario Laptop model V3018 with the following specification:
Intel core solo processor T1350 @1086 Ghz(2MB integrated L2 cache, 533 Mhz FSB)
Intel 945GM express chipset
512 MB PC2-4200 DDR2(533 Mhz)RAM
60 GB Serial ATA 150 MB/Sec @5400 RPM
8X supermulti drive double layer(805GB)DVD writer etc.
The laptop was loaded with WIN XP professional with SP2. On entering the BIOS set up, it is seen that the SATA drive has been diabled and the OS has been loaded. The OS doesnot appear if the SATA drive is enabled. This is quite preplexing to me. I wanted the seller to load the laptop as dual OS booting with Fedora. But he told me that FEDORA does not support SATA drive. I donot want to hold on the system without enabling the SATA drive due to which I choose the system. Kindly suggest a way out.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
