If it doesn't, you might try switching PCI slots for the card. Try to move it at least one slot away from any other cards of AGP slots. Occasionally, a particular slot just won't function well.

I just installed a wireless network card in my computer and since than my computer is running really slow. not just on the internet but also when the computer boots up its taking longer and during games i play off line the game at times will go into slow motion. I installed a D-link air DWL-520 wireless PCI adapter. I am running windows XP professional, 760 mb of ram, Intel Celeron CPU 2.20 GHZ 2.19 GHZ. can someone tell me why its slowing the computer down and what can i do to fix it
