Installed CD/DVD R/RW and won't write

by pacifist / October 24, 2005 8:31 AM PDT

I know the cd/rw works because it is out of another machine of mine. I am trying to save some pictures with no luck. When I right click on a picture it doesn't show cd/rw as an option to send to and if I try and drag a picture over to the Cd/RW I get this
'' Unable to create the folder 'My Pictures' ''
'' Access is denied ''
'' OK '' button
I checked the BenQ web site for drivers an they only show firmware updates. The Windows ME that I am using only had a cd-rom and I would like to save the pictures with the writer. In the device Manager is shows the BenQ and no (?) question mark for a driver problem.
P4 1.6ghz,128mhz ram,20gig hdd, Windows ME
Anyone?

With all the latest machines (XP, Mac, etc) having native CD recording features we will forget about the older versions...

And why is your issue in this discussion? I think it best you make a new proper post with the right details.

But here's my assessment. You need to try a new DVDRW drive and another make media. Your log is typical of an old drive of 1 to more years old.
