installed a BenQ CD/dvd/r/rw and won't Write

by pacifist / October 24, 2005 8:23 AM PDT

The sub menu of pictures (right Click) doesn't show cd/rw as an option and if I try and drag a picture over to it I get this
'' Unable to create the folder 'My Pictures' ''
'' Access is denied ''
then the '' OK '' button
I checked the BenQ web site for drivers an they only show firmware updates. The Windows ME that I am using only had a cd-rom and I would like to save the pictures with the writer. In the device Manager is shows the BenQ and no ? question mark for a driver problem.

Pacifist..Is This a Virus or Security Issue?
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / October 24, 2005 9:04 AM PDT

I see that you've posted in the Windows Me forum and that is a better forum for this question...but just to get you headed in the right direction..IN order to do what you are trying to do with the drive, you'll need a formatted CD-RW disk and the correct packet writing software to copy/paste or drag/drop the file to the disk. Do you have such software installed? (DirectCD/Drag to Disk by Roxio, InCD by Nero, or another?)

In addition, make sure you've enabled CD recording on the drive. Open "My Computer", RIGHT click on the CD-RW drive icon, choose "Properties", then click on the "Recording" tab and place a CHECK mark in the "Enable CD Recording on this drive".

Hope this helps.
