a replacement lcd panel for the e1405 should retail for about $375 (1280x800) or $425 (1440x900). shop around for a local pc repair shop and if they charge $500 or less for the entire repair (parts+labor) then you're getting a great deal.
I had an accident with my Dell Inspiron 1405 notebook. The display is cracked(although not physically), I can do everything I used to when I connect to another monitor. According to the technician it's the LCD and everything else seems fine. How difficult is it to install a new LCD and is there other options than to go with a Dell?
