Dell does not provide a "recovery" disc. You should get an OS disc, as well as discs for drivers and any applications. If you want to buy MS Office, those discs will be provided separately.
On the other hand, Dell desktops do come with a "recovery" partition on the hard drive. This is primarily to provide an easy way to recovery the factory installed software with very little effort if something goes wrong right from the start.
Hi, glad there is a Dell forum here as I'm working on financing to purchase a Dell XPS Studio w/ the i7 processor and the ATI Radeon 4850 HD graphics card and 4G's of RAM, it's one I'm speccing out online.
Curious, what discs normally come w/ the XPS, if just a restore/recorvery disc, it is possible to have at least the OS on it's own disc or can I have all drivers, MB drivers etc, including Office Pro(which I am getting w/ the PC and know it's pre-installed) on separate CD's so in the future when I upgrade/repair as needed or simply need to reinstall etc, the tasks is easier to accomplish?
