Inspiron 530

Apr 10, 2011 6:18AM PDT

When the Inspiron 530 is powered on,all I get is a Blue screen with the DELL logo on it and two choices to boot up F6 and F12 and it still won't boot up. It boot up just fine yesterday automatically. Is there anything I can try before I take it to a repair shop? Any suggestions will be appreciated. The OS is Vista Home Premium.

I can't run the diagnostics because I can't get any farther than the first screen with the DELL logo.

Boot from the CD (see the docs on how.)

If you can't do that then the machine needs repairs. You have to guess which part but given only this story I'll suspect HDD, CD drives and the motherboard.

I took it to the Geek Squad and they determined that nothing was wrong with the computer. They said that sometimes a USB device attached to the computer will stop it at the LOGO screen. It was probably my HP Deskjet D4260 printer.
