Inspiron 1525 crashed..help!!

Sep 18, 2009 5:51PM PDT

heyy my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop crashed; it says to insert a Windows CD & click on Repair but a friend told me that i will lose all my files! What can I do to keep my files? Most of my files (images, music, videos) are found on Disk E as all the Registry & drivers' files are on Local Disk C; If I remove Disk E from the laptop, would it work on a computer so that I can get my files back??

The easy questions are answered with a search engine. Remember that these are all volunteer forums so easy questions tend to be answered by "use your search engine please."

In post 2, the link given shows others that succeeded. I can't tell if you tried or not.
