when I press the eject button on my cd/dvd burner/player the drawer won't open, I can do the old open it with a paper clip trick but don't want to keep doing that. Do I need to replace the burner and if so is there a favorite one? Thanks...Digger

Try right-clicking from Windows Explorer and...

Good luck.

I I re-booted and now it's working fine. I'm thinking maybe that was a little warning that it might be getting old? Maybe I should think about getting another one. Ever have to lube them up?

Sometimes something has the drive allocated

Sometimes after using the drive, it stays "in use" as far as Windows is concerned, and that can cause what you reported. I doubt if that means the drive has a problem, but they aren't expensive. They cost around $20 and aren't that hard to replace - two cables and 4 screws. They do need cleaning periodically, but that wouldn't cause them not to open.

Good luck.

Interesting find there. I never sought out a lock and sure can't find one . I dunno what happened but it stopped as fast as it started. I just have whatever stock burning program that comes with windows. Thought about getting Image Burn but really never saw the need. Thanks....Digger
