Question

"Input not supported" on monitor I Cant see the display

Mar 18, 2017 11:34PM PDT

Using the Windows dual display feature on my Lenovo laptop, i setup a 24inch AOC monitor as the only display; the laptop built in display is switched off.

Everything worked perfectly until i changed the resolution on the external monitor to a very high setting and received the error, input not supported.

Now i cant reset it back.

Solutions I've tried.
- Windows restart (same error)
- rebooting in Safe mode (if i leave the monitor plugged up to the laptop i get the same error - input not support - If i unplug the monitor the laptop built in display works perfectly but i am unable to adjust the external monitor settings. As soon as i plug the monitor back in, the error reappears.

How can i adjust the external monitor resolution?
Is there a back end where i can reset the dual display settings?

I'm not IT savvy enough to fix this. Please offer suggestions if you have any.

Thank you

Did you try System Restore?

That's what it's for. When you make a change and can't figure a way back.

Can't you set it for laptop monitor ONLY?

And that cause the second monitor to be redetected when you switch it back to dual monitor?
