Question

Input lag while gaming on ASUS N56JN

Sep 5, 2015 1:08PM PDT

Hey guys, I'm getting pretty severe mouse and keyboard input lag while playing most games on my ASUS N56JN (Geforce 840m).
My fps is pretty decent in these games but the input lag makes them unplayable. The lag is even there when browsing menus and stops as soon as I alt-tab out of the game.
Any help would be appreciated!

Answer
The 840m is entry level so yes, it will lag bad.

I'm guessing this is your first outing with an entry level gamer. There are many prior discussions about reducing settings and more so I'll stop here.

Note: Edited to correct title typo.

I dont think this is normal for a 840m

I understand I won't run the newest games at 60fps but the problem here isn't that the card can't handle the games, it's just that there's big input lag while running at pretty decent fps.

Then let's call it defective.

You made no mention of it worked right ever so it's defective and you're back at the shop asking them to set it right. It is an entry level gamer so I find folk with high expectations for the 840m. You need to limit frame rate to give more time for input processing.

There's also those online gamers yelling LAG!!! and then you find them on WiFi.

Sorry to read your posts but it's a defective unit in my opinion so far unless there's more to the story.

Not that helpful..

Ok thanks for the replies but I'll wait for someone who can come up with a fix now, because I'm pretty sure its not defective.

I don't mind diving into this but if it's bad when new

What is there to fix? When you get a new car and it's not working right new, you take it back.

You didn't correct me about it ever working right and I know the 840m stories. There could be more to the story like "I installed Windows 7" which results in folk learning far too much about the industry.
