Question

Input lag - Panasonic L55EM60

Jan 8, 2014 3:26AM PST

Hello, I am new to the concept of input lag but I noticed it as soon as i opened up my PS3 on my new EM60. The TV I had before was a cheap RCA 32" LCD and there was no considerable input lag (at least for me)

I tried to shut off all the post-processing effects and I am wondering if the "game" mode in the picture menu is actually a real game mode or I am better off with Custom settings because in those I can turn off the video nr while in game mode it is set to "weak".

I also wanted to know if there's any information or data about the input lag on this particular model (it is the E60 without a proper "game mode" and all the smart TV features) because even after changing the settings I feel unpleasant input lag and I am wondering if it is similar to other LED-LCD TVs or if it is worst with that model and if there are other ways to lower it.

Thanks!

I already did post on that forum first because I fell on it while searching on google. I didn't even know it was a good place for it so thanks! I'll wait for a reply.

I don't expect "Picture Mode" which mentions Game to have any effect. Look to the following to turn off. You should test these.

1. A.I. picture
2. Video NR
3. Advanced Picture (a few offs there.)

Done that

I already tried turning off everything and I still feel it. I am wondering if it is TV with high input lag compared to other LED-LCD TVs or if I am just being over-picky. (maybe cause i've been playing with the settings for a couple of days now)

But it appears you would have to use those tests that CNET and others use to measure lag to see what effects these have. You seen to have done all that I would have and having the right model # lets folk chime in.

I usually find this to be at most 1 frame lag or 16 milliseconds. Gamers usually want every mS.
