Inmate caught in beating scam

by Angeline Booher / June 22, 2005 4:29 AM PDT

I wish I had a link to this local story, but I think it is worth telling- the best I can.

A local jail inmate lifted the mattress off the metal bars on his bunk, then banged his head, face, and upper body on them. Then he claimed the jailers had beaten him.

He even gave his cell mate a running account of his plan.

His problem was that all of this was caught on tape.

What about...

the prisoners who abused a book so they could blame it on the guards? I hear that's all the rage nowadays because the suckers in the media (and public) fall for it every time.
