I bought the above subject matter notebook but cannot look up for information regarding sonoma.Even with the latest disc provided by Intel i.e. cpu test disc it only shows M processor Dothan not Sonoma however the FSB is 533 but the processing no. is 725 not 730 as it should be.How do I check whether sonoma is "really" in the notebook
The things to consider when purchasing just went up a notch. There is a new faster processor by Intel, it was code named ?Sonoma? while it was in development, and is now part of the Pentium M Centrino line. The processors are not easy to distinguish when shopping unless you look at the specs and find the front side bus speed, the new chips are all 533 MHz . They are 730, 740, 750, 760, and 770. Only the even numbered processors are the new high speed line. The 735, 745 etc. are not the newest technology.
