Info on Sony S-AIRPLAY Digital Wireless Speaker System?

by WheelerCub / August 12, 2010 6:11 AM PDT

I'm interested in purchasing a wireless speaker system for my home that I can plug either my iPod into or my smartphone with a 3.5mm headjack and the Sony S-AIRPLAY Digital Wireless Speaker System came up in a few searches. I couldn't find any reviews for this product when searching CNET, so I was hoping someone could give me the skinny on the following product.

I also found the Sony ALT-SA31iR, which appears to be a more expensive upgraded version of the prior product, but again I'm not sure why I would want one or the other.

Also, if there are recommendations for similar products from other companies, I'm very interested in seeing those as well.
