Increasing the no of redial attempts in Dial Up connection

Feb 1, 2011 2:22PM PST

I have a 3G connection which at times need to be redialled.
But the problem is in Windows 7 the maximum limit is 99.

Is there anyway to increase this limit?

So you dont know the answer to the question, but you disregard the question by questioning it? You must be so smart!! You dont know the answer? Shut up and move on to another thread.

Here's the solution -since I did not find it anywhere on the net I share it here for those who are looking for it- to the ******** limitation on redial attempts in windows :

Find pbk file on the location below:
%CurrentUser%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Network\Connections\Pbk

Open the pbk file in notepad. Find the foloowing string:
RedialAttempts=
Put whatever number you want after =
Save it.

Youre done.

I found the answer by trial and error. I tried. I didnt try to escape from the problem by saying "isnt 99 enough"!!!

Unlikely that the maximum limit is 99 (which - agreed with Mark - seems high enough). Maybe the GUI only has space for 2 digits. But did you already check where it's stored in the registry? Quite possible it's a numeric value that you can give a much higher value (how about 32767?) with regedit.
