Question

Increasing Memory

Sep 17, 2015 1:20AM PDT

I have an emachines 525 series R3 laptop. The original hard drive has been replaced with a Kingston SSD drive. I want to increase the RAM to 4gByte or higher. Is this possible and where canI buy the memory card(s)?

Higher than 4 GB only makes sense if you have a 64-bit OS. The usual odler 32-bit OS only sees 4 GB, so everything more is not used.

Now go to www.crucial.com to find out what the maximum RAM for your PC is, and what they sell. Then buy what you need.

I would suggest going to crucial.com. You can search for your specific computer and it will tell you what you need and what your computer can handle. or you can let it scan your computer for you. You can buy from there or take the info elsewhere and get your ram.
