Increasing criticism of NASA over Hubble neglect

Apr 12, 2004 2:28AM PDT
Hubble's fate stirs debate on space.
>>"This is a massive crime against science. The Hubble is the most valuable science instrument in human history, and it's being abandoned," said Robert Zubrin, president of the Mars Society, a Denver-based organization that advocates speedy settlement of the Red Planet.

A mission to the moon is more dangerous than a shuttle trip to Hubble, and a Mars mission is even more daunting, Zubrin argues. "If we are unwilling to accept the risk of flying to Hubble, then how are we going to fly to the moon or Mars?" <<
