Incorrect Icon For Mail Message Checkbox - Windows 7

by mike281 / October 20, 2014 3:46 PM PDT

I am using Windows 7 and Firefox with Yahoo Mail.
Well here I am again, sorry to raise so many questions, but this stumps me. My hands shake and I may have inadvertently changed an Icon. My Check Box, at the left of Yahoo messages has changed to something like a double-offset box that I don't see in the Icons.
I have tried to left-click on the desktop and navigate to \Personalize\ Change Desktop Icons\ Tried Computer, User's Files, etc. But I don't see the Square Box usually found in front of mail messages. If anyone knows how I can get it back, I'd really be happy to get the help. Thanks! Mike

In reply to: 2 ideas.

Thanks for the suggestions but changing the Font does not seem to cover my problem which is the that the Check Box that should be to the left of the name of the sender of the Yahoo mail message, that you click to select for deletion, etc has changed to two symbols, one to the left that has the letters EO, with IR below that shows Checkbox, not checked when i mouse over it.
To the right is a box that shows EO over OD, with the indication Mark as read \ unread, when i mouse over it. These boxes do function correctly when clicked, but the square boxes have been replaced by the EO and IR indications.
I have looked at the suggestion to Reset Firefox but I am concerned that it may cause more problems.
Maybe someone knows how to change those Icons back to Checkboxes and could please leave a suggestion. Thank you.

In a new Windows user account compare Firefox settings there until you find Waldo. It usually takes me up to a hour to check each area.

Bob, Thanks for your suggestion, I appreciate the help. However I thought I remembered another way to fix this. You got my old mind working so I did some checking online. I found the following solution which worked like a charm!
Navigate to Firefox \ Tools \ Content \ Advanced \ In middle left of the Window Check 'Allow pages to choose their own fonts , instead of my selections above'. It automatically restored the missing checkboxes! Thanks again for your help! Mike
