incorrect function

hi all. whenever i try to access my cd drive(q),it comes up with the error message 'q:/is not accessable.incorrect function'.is this because the disk is blank and if so is there a way around this? i have the RecordNow program so i can copy files onto the disk but do i have to open up this program everytime i want to copy something.i want to be able to put the disk in and using windows explorer, drag or copy files over to the cd drive.thanks.

What it is possible to record on CDR/W as a disk drive (in Explorer), issues abound as to reliability and compatibility.

Go with what works.

Thanks for your reply, bob. I do normally get around the problem by using RecordNow but whenever I put a blank disk in the drive, up pops the error message. I'm trying to use the disk to back up informaton.

In SERVICES.MSC (run that) set the IMAPI service to disable.
