Inauguration

Jan 20, 2017 10:14AM PST

It's official now, after the speech.

The power is given back to the people, all decisions will be inspired by the vision "America first", so "Buy American, hire American".

So let me propose that CNET in every review of a non-American product - like Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic, HTC, even Apple (made in China) - should show its support by giving a clear warning like:

WARNING (for our American readers only). This is not an American product. Buying it is an unpatriotic act, and won't help to make America great again.

I suppose every Trump fan here agrees with this proposal. Yes?

Well Said...

Anybody, Nobody ha ha it is funny. According to me "Buy American, hire American" Concept is favor to the Americans, but other countries are not able to digest Trump announcement. In America 80% products are from china. so without buying china products difficult to survive. so Initially Trump have to encourage small scale Industries to overcome this in further years.

I believe Brunswick was the only bowling ball company in the USA at the time....and now we have none.

No balls?...would you like to rephrase that?

because of the longtime decline in the sport.
They have an impressive list remaining:

Would be useful to know how many American bodies are employed in them. Seems to me there is a good mix of low and high skill jobs in there.
Decades ago "brunswicks" was trade shorthand for "records", as in music recording devices. One can understand where that went.

Brunswick cost people their jobs
Jan 23, 2017 2:17AM PST

when they invented the automatic pinsetters in the '50s. A mechanical pinsetter had been produced earlier but there was still some need for "pin boys". I do remember being in bowling alleys back then with parents and other adults and remember watch these pin boys bob and weave, jump and dive, and do all they could to avoid flying pins and out of control bowling balls. It was a low paying job and probably without workman's comp. It also is where the term "pin money" came from. Brunswick's invention killed those jobs. Shame on him.

and I met in a local bowling alley when we were teenagers....he WAS that 'pin boy'. The automation was brought into play because of all of the serious injuries that were happening to young kids trying to get money for smokes or a date. I spent time in the back watching these boys at 14-15 years old jumping in and out of those machines to unclog a jam, etc. and it was really scary.

My guess is that these kids also did this for fun

At that age, they feel invincible and will try about anything. Look at some of the dumb stunts they do with skate boards, and that parkour and freerunning. Look it up. It's pure nuts.

that respotted all the pins after the first ball. A pinboy worked around any moved but standing pins. The machine registers the pickups, sweeps the rest, and sets the others back down. If you watch, you'll occasionally see one wiggle a little. The gripper has a has a surface that maintains the angle of pickup so ithe pin goes down legally.
Take notes; pop quiz tomorrow. Happy

I could imagine that an avid and intense bowler

had plenty of excuses when having a bad night. I also think it may have been customary to consider tipping the pin boy. By that, I mean giving him some gratuity and not putting him on his head. Happy Perhaps an enterprising pin boy might know who was likely to tip and make some "adjustments" to assist with making a spare. I believe I've also heard complaints from competitive bowlers that they'd see an occasional foot appear from above when their rivals were at the line.

Interesting that Canada is so high on the list. Not a low wage place AFAIK. Look at what the US does with oil; back and forth with crude & refined. Related are reports that US, a non-OPEC country, may bollix their plans by increasing its shale oil output.

tried moving to Holland first but didn't care for it. These would be the "Puritans". I read that they thought the Nederlanders were too permissive as a society and chose to take the ocean voyage instead. Here they remained separate from the other religious groups who were fleeing the Church of England and it's insistence on having the country's monarch at its head. I'm not certain what the US imports from that area that would be labeled as such but I've always enjoyed those windmill cookies. Happy

showed that. The girl's mother warned her about the 'wicked ways' of the Catholics before sending her off to Vermeer's house. Also showed the 'upper room' aspect of their church services; no chalices or vestments. The Vermeer character alludes to the relative freedom of worship there. One of the few historical fictions I've liked in either medium.

Trudeau?..The LIBERAL?

YOU believe Liberals know what's best for the country?

RE:their trade baby NAFTA.

"their"?....don't you mean "OUR"

.Mexico, USA and Canada? NAFTA?

IF America is out? According to TheRUMP

WHY is TheRUMP even letting them into the country to "talk"?

Because he's going to "renegotiate"?

America hasn't "unsigned" anything yet....In fact there has been an update on TheRUMPS threats...

Ottawa (AFP) - President Donald Trump spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Saturday in a call focused on the importance of bilateral trade.

The discussion came the day after the Trump team swiftly updated the White House website to reflect commitment to "renegotiating NAFTA," the free trade agreement that has linked Canada, the United States and Mexico since 1994.

All I've heard from TheRUMP is his gums flapping and the sound of backpedaling.

Mostly about how many people didn't show up at his inauguration

AND he used a memorial honoring intelligence agents of America as a backdrop for his little hissyfit.......DISGUSTING!!!!!

He seems to have some fixation on the size of things....

speech he gave to the CIA........without his nominee thanks to the Dems. But the CIA was his first stop. He's been in office for two days, and you're already complaining he hasn't 'done enough' and is 'all talk'....but I guess you don't count all the EO's he has signed already erasing or freezing many of BO's directives.....a full two days before even BO did anything because the weekend after the inauguration is traditionally non-working days.
