A: prompt the same as being in DOS mode???

Trying to upgrade BIOS in my video card.

The Gigabyte instructions implies that there should be an MS-DOS option on the startup menu for ME and XP.

DOS boot diskettes can by made from the download at bootdisk.com, running that .EXE and a boot disk is the result.

Very easy.

Are you saying

that I can download a boot disk for use with Win XP, where the boot drive is using NTFS?? The other drive is in FAT 32.

Don't know where th Video card BIOS is stored opr how accessed. I follow the procedures using command prompt and then get an A prompt. Type exactly what Gigabyte says, and get message "this VGA card unknown".

Emailed Gigabyte tech support, based on previous interface with them, they won't understand the question and give a reply that isn't even on the same subject. Great mobos, but terrible support, only due to language.

Finding ABIT to be so much better for communicating.

Put the needed files on the dos boot diskette.

How do I pull this off? Since I only need read access (and then rarely) I can add NTFSDOS to the boot diskette. However, this is rarely called for.
