In the need of an addressbook software..

Nov 19, 2003 3:53AM PST

I heard that plaxo (plaxo.com) have a nice free program...

But, before I try it, I would like an information on the program...

Has anyone use it? Is it secure and free of spyware/adware?

How big is the chances of they selling our database --could they do it?

I appreciate for any information about it.

Thank You

Plaxo annoys me
Over the last few months, I've gotten a small, but annoyingly steady, stream of messages from alleged users of Plaxo asking me to help keep their Outlook contact lists up to date by filling out some form on the Plaxo site. I wouldn't mind so much - what are friends for, after all? - except I don't actually know any of these people. Yep, I've yet to get a single Plaxogram from somebody whose name I recognize (and the feeling is apparently mutual - all of these messages come with a sample form in which all my contact info, except my name and address, is blank).

"Has anyone use it? Is it secure and free of spyware/adware?"

Doesn't matter. It's a great way of leaking information.

"How big is the chances of they selling our database --could they do it?"

It's worse than that. Joe/Jane employee copies it on a CDR, USB MEMORY FOB and walks out and sells it. We have ZERO assurance of their security.

"I appreciate for any information about it."

Read their site, decided they can go away. Chastised my dad and a friend for listing me on it.
