In Open File, folders are no longer in alphabetical order

by ahw30045 / April 21, 2004 6:41 AM PDT

I am unsure what has happened, but when I am within any program and want to open a file or folder, the folders are no longer in alphabetical order. I can't see any pattern.

Anyone know what happened and how to change it?

1. Please note that just above the text editor (where you enter a question on the forum) is the following paragraph, and if certain information is not present in your question, our reply may not be very helpful:

Tip: If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution.

2. Identify that program, and what do they look like in Explorer/My Competer?

immediate solution. right click, arrange icons, by name

Permanent - go to Windows Explorer or MyComputer click on tools, folder options, view, check like current folder and make sure you have clicked on name to put in ascending or decending name order first. This will define the windows default.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
