In Need of Some TLC in Regards to Needing a Notebook Quick!

Both my jobs require I have a notebook. I had posted a few post earlier but I am beyond where to get it and the processor size, cache, HUD size, RAM, etc. My decision is a Dell. However, I can get it under their Latitude, Inspiron, XPS, and their "combat" model.

I am not pleased with the service I have had from Dell but I have to make my decision quick.

I do need some input in the Vista area. if I get the upgrade coupon and order XP home for now because I am hoping to pay the extra for Vista Pro what is the deal. How does the upgrade go? I know they have been trying to make some money by selling the Upgrade help but I think they are getting enough of my money.

I wanted to hear about a pro's opinion on the latest Office. has that come out yet or is their still going to be one or would I just get the Office 2003? I need Power Point. Excel, Publisher, Word, etc.

Any suggestions/thoughts?

One final area I am stuck is the warranty. I am not into fixing computers. So if my notebook breaks, I will need to have a professional fix it. I was looking at the 4 year.

And if anybody has some special advice on what model of Dell. I need the Core 2 Duo, 2.o. Not sure on the speed of the processor. Not sure if I should have the hard drive partitioned either.

My finally questions is about the processor. Are all the new processors 64 bit. One needs the 64 bit for vista, right?

Thanks for any help.
