In Need of a TV Tuner Card for XP Media PC (eMachines T6520)

by spamforjane / July 11, 2005 1:56 PM PDT

This particular model doesn't have a tv tuner installed, so I'm left to find one that's compatible w/ XP MCE.

Found a great article that compared the different tuner cards out there, and #2 was Hauppauge WinTv PVR-250, and #1 was ATI Wonder Elite.

ANyone have experiences with either of these cards? Where's the best place to purchase them? Is it fairly easy to self-install or should I pay a technician to do it for me?

the Hauppauge cards. I'm not familiar with specific models. Whatever you use, be sure it has a hardware encoder that will allow programs to be recorded in mpeg2 format.
