+++++ in my address bar???

Jan 25, 2005 4:28PM PST

when I log on and open Internet Explorer, a series of ++++++ marks appear on my address bar and of course nothing will open because of this. It seems the computer is possessed as it is typing these. If I happen to get to another screen these + marks appear again on the address bar and in any search box I can open. Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks, Pam

Can you delete them?

The only things i can think of are:

1. Delete the +'s and try again
2. Is your + key on your keyboard stuck???

Pam, just a possibility

You MIGHT have been hijacked. Try an online scan and see if it picks anything up. Make sure you put a checkmark where is says "autoclean". If you have never been here before, it will take a while to do the scan. This MAY not be your problem but it might narrow things down some. IF housecall finds something but can fix it, find out exactly what it is and where on your computer it is if possible. Also check your add/remove programs to see if there is something in there that you don't recognize.

Roddy, thanks! That solved the problem. I couldn't even get on last night to see your replies, but was able to work around it today. I was hijacked! I appreciate all of your help.
