In memory of our beloved moderator Mark Flaxman. RIP

by Lee Koo (ADMIN) CNET staff/forum admin / February 8, 2018 11:18 AM PST

Hi CNET community members and readers,

It is with a saddened heart that I inform you that Mark Flaxman our long time forum moderator and friend has passed away.

Mark has been a invaluable CNET member since 2002 and has been a CNET forum moderator for well over a decade. I'm sure many members of this community sometime or another more than likely have interacted or received help from him throughout the years in the forums. Due to deteriorating health conditions over the past couple of years as much as he loved being part of this community he was unable to continue and recently hung up his moderator badge for retirement. He was sorely missed as a team member and now he has passed.

He will be deeply missed, I have always regarded Mark as a kind gentleman with a big heart--always willing to help others in need without question or judgement. I know Mark is now in peace and in a beautiful place.

Thank you Mark for all that you have contributed and brought to this community over the years, your kindness and sincerity will not be forgotten. Our thoughts are with your family and friends.Good bye my friend, I will see you again in the future.

-Lee

Rest peacefully, Mark

While I never reached out for help myself, I have kept the forum close to me for the answers given to others and the fountain of information CNET provides.
Although I haven't personally conversed with Mark, I know that those who give their time and expertise freely and unselfishly, as Mark did, are few and far between.

I for one, appreciate all you did to help your fellow men and women, Mark, and know you will be missed dearly.
May you rest in peace and enjoy the rewards of your years of hard work and dedication to CNET and its readers.

It's so hard to see any one go. I guess that's live. Hope his family and friends are doing well.

You helped so many, with professionalism and Knowledge, in a selfless and non-judgemental way. There are precious few true gentlemen in the world that it is a great sadness to lose one of the best.

You will not be forgotten in this forum.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
