Sounds more like south side of Chicago.
As you read, it gets worse. At any time there could have been a bit giving some sense to it; vendetta and the like, mentioned by the blogger. There was none.

strikes me as the work of some real "haters" - as they say nowadays.

Maybe "eco-terrorism" is at work here? Whoever the culprit, there's no excuse for this kind of "prank" - as noted, "regular folk" and even wildlife could potentially be harmed/maimed/killed. For what?

An odd story on the BBC website yesterday.

Can't find it today, so here's a summary.
A woman mystery writer talking about Derbyshire's moody landscape, lending murder sites to crime novelists. Including the Peaks area, featured in the cyclist story.

Not that relevant as it happens, because actual murders aren't that common. And a cyclist could be killed by the Shire Idiot, but we're happy that hasn't happened.

Reminds me of Oxford, home of the famous U. If you watch various BBC mystery series you'd swear off visiting. Murder a week; good thing Morse was on the job. Actual rate is about one a century. Happy
