Impossible Or Not?? Sharing internet....

I Was wondering if it is possible to have one nic hooked up to a cable modem. And have a seceond one that is hooked up to a computer.. Then send Internet through the second one to the other computer...

Can this be done without a router... ?

The names are...

1. ICS. A feature of Windows 98se, 2000, XP, 2003. Noted at http://www.wown.com
2. Linux's IPMASQ or other http://en.tldp.org/HOWTO/IP-Masquerade-HOWTO/

etcetara...

Usually these are too demanding of the users so a router is suggested for those that can't research and implement these.

In closing, it's not "sending the internet" to the other machine. But that's slicing the words a little thin so you decide.

This setup was done all the time....

with proxy server programs such as Sygate/ICS, but the simplicity of a $25 router antiquates this type of setup.
