Question

importing pst imap

Feb 22, 2015 7:21PM PST

What happens when you import an old exported imap account?Doesn't it conflict with the imap server?

I speak about a pst that includes local folders and an imap account.

No problem with that. An eml-file is local.

eml file

Does this mean the mails of the eml file of my imap account comes in a local folder when I import them?
Or becomes my imap account a mix of the local eml mails and the mails of the imap server?

Why not try one and see what happens? Might be interesting.

import eml file imap account

I have installed windows live mail on another computer with the same imap account.
I have exported the imap inbox then I have imported the imap inbox.
At the moment of importing windows live mail did not ask whether it must double the existing imap mails or not importing existing mails.
After importing the inbox has not changed.So there are no double mails.When I delete an old message it's removed from my imap server: I have no conflict with my imap server.
But when I export imap, then I remove an imap message and then I import imap: the removed message does not appaer in the inbox: it seems like import does not work with imap!
