importing/exporting icons

Jun 19, 2004 5:42AM PDT

I have downloaded a freeware program "Axioms\PixelToolbox".

I have created an icon "rainfall.ico" and would like to use this new icon as a desktop shortcut to an Excel 2000 file named "rainfall.xls".

I can not figure how to make this happen.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

right click on the existing icon, choose properties. One of the choices is to change the icon, use browse to find the one you want.

Thanks jconner, but, as I said I created an icon and wish to use the new icon, not an icon in the change icon list.

Please re-read jconner post. It stated BROWSE for icons. Don't have to use the MS stuff.

correct - in fact there are dozens and dozens of icons all over the place in Windows and unless you know the folders you wont find them. one such folder in windows in called pfmgr. I cannot recall all of the folders butthere is actually some freeware you can get that puts all iconns into one folder check it at downloads.com
So just know into which folder you put that icon go to it and click on it - apply & OK.
