General discussion

Immature Reviewers on Cnet

Mar 30, 2005 3:00AM PST

I think we've all seen one or two reviews on a product page that is either spam or just a plain, biased ranting.

Is there anything we can do to cease this?

It's mostly immature reviewers, in the pre-adolescent age bracket, giving "1"s and "10"s in a biased manner. It's simply downright annoying; makes you want to gag the other kid on end of the line! lol.

So, am I posting in the right corner of the forum here or am I just being unreasonable?

I agree, what the community users can do is vote on the

helpfulness rating. The more people vote the better we are all in keeping these useless user reviews at bottom of the helpfulness order.

Yes, as long as the good and honest reviewers are around, that should shine out of all the bad ones.

I just had to get this off of my mind, as I was criticized for giving an honest review on a product; saying I was giving a "awefull review" (spelling mistake!).

Anyway, I bit back on his reviews,.. I just hope this new feature that lets you post opinions doesn't get out of hand. It's a VERY cool feature, I've reviewed over 10 products in about a week. I don't want to see it get abused.
