IMDb and Amazon image problem

Nov 10, 2004 8:24AM PST

For some reason, neither the photos in the photo galleries at the Internet Movie Database, and the preview images for the "Search Inside the Book" feature at Amazon show up for me. All other images load up except those images. There are no X icons where the images should be. I'm using Internet Explorer 6 with Windows XP. Does anybody know what my problem could be? (And I don't want anybody telling me that the problem is IE or Windows, and that I should be using some other browser or operating system.)

Anyhoo...

You should try another browser. Period. Get over it.

If that works, then we look at IE and the IEFIX program and hope it automatically fixes the issue.

You should have read my message a second time. Or do you ignore anything in brackets?

No, I imagine Bob saw your comment.

He is saying, get another browser. If that works, then you know its a browser problem which can be investigated and hopefully fixed, and not just a web site problem.

I downloaded Netscape Navigator and do not have this problem with the IMDb and Amazon images. So the problem lies with my Internet Explorer. What that problem is, and how I can solve it, I don't know.

I would first use IEFIX (have the XP CD handy) since it cures the minor ills without having to dig for each one.

Try that first.

Remember that popup blockers, internet accelerators and spyware has to be researched too.

Or you could just use Netscape.
