Image.dll error

by hinesjrh / June 14, 2004 9:48 AM PDT

At boot up, I am getting an error message that says something like - problem loading image.dll due to a missing library file. How can I fix this? What causes this?

I am running Win ME on a Dell Dimension 8100 (P4). I looked into editing the registry as suggested in Symantec's note (sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/pf/adware.iefeats.html). However, when I look in those folders in the registery they are empty. A full Norton scan finds two files (adware.lefeats and another) that it can't clean or delete. It is not causing any problems that I can see, other than the misleading error message at each boot up. HELP.

Since you have the spyware, the power tool HIJACKTHIS may finish off the items that Adaware didn't touch.

OR you are using just one piece of the full Anti-Parasite Suite which includes Adaware, Spybot, Cwshredder and Housecall.

I have the exact same problem except I am running window XP. I have many of these lefeats Adware trojans. I tried to follow the directions from Norton but as well the registry does not include the files they mentioned to delete.
Help please

You should post this in the XP Forum and since you have security issues, the Security Forum as well.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
