Is the resolution still set to the native resolution of the laptop? If not, it can look worse than usual. Right click on an empty part of the desktop and have a look at the video properties.

I recently downloaded some programs such as Kindle, adobe digital edition, google chrome etc and an ebook (which could be a virus as it flags when I try to open it after sillyly downloading it ).
After a few hours, I suddenly noticed the image display is not as clear as before. I knew it as I look as images all the time. Here I mean static and moving images.
Tried to empty all the caches, removing and unistall all the previous programs but the images are blurry and uncomfortable at sight.
I'm using windows 7 and my laptop is a 'high definition' one with Nvidia display card. All the texts are ok but the images still blurry. Could it be virus issue?
I feel like wanting to discard this 2 year old laptop.
What shall I do? Am so upset.
