Resolved Question

image changes to icon

Mar 3, 2012 2:02AM PST

Good afternoon,
I have a mac os x 10.5.8 and am trying to organize my picture folder. I am creating sub-folders and when I move the pictures from the folder to the sub-folder it changes to an icon. How can I move them and still see the picture image in the sub-folder? I had an option for 'thumbnails' on my old pc but can't find it on my mac.

Thanks for your help,

Rita

Without getting into the behind the scenes details of whats going on here, suffice it to say that any time you move the image from one place to another, it will require that the OS generate a new thumbnail image of the file. This should happen automagically, so if it's not then try some things like changing the view type for that particular folder, or even using quick view or preview to open the file and force the OS to read the file again.

if you have the view, Menu bar > View > View as Cover Flow you will see a larger preview picture as you move through the files

Once again you solved my problem for me. I hope you all get a lot of satisfaction in knowing how much you help all of us. I know my questions are very basic and simple and probably make you wonder how someone could be so clueless. However, you still give me the help I need and seem to be patient and informative teachers. Thanks again. Rita
