imacs on Ebay

Feb 21, 2008 12:14AM PST

I have never used Ebay and was thinking into possibly getting an older mac of somesort. Is it NORMAL to have 2-3 year old imacs going for 60, 50, even 30 BUCKS???? I'm kinda paranoid about getting ripped off...

i really don't really care bout the hardware, I just want to try out mac for a change

While I would have no use for such, be sure to get the OS CD with it or you learn another lesson.

They are either defective in some, subtle, way
or
They are not spec'd enough to run OS X comfortably and will need larger drives and much more RAM
or
They are so old that the really don't run any operating system comfortably any more.

As Bob mentioned, the original OS disks are essential
