Question

iMac won't go to sleep....

Feb 22, 2012 4:11AM PST

I'm running OS 10.5.8 on my iMac, and sometimes when I put it to sleep, it immediately re-starts. I'm not touching anything that would turn it back on, and all applications are closed. I end up having to shut down. This started a couple of months ago. It doesn't always happen, but lately it's been worse. Sometimes I just open safari or check my mail for a minute, then try to put it to sleep if I won't be using for a little while, but I end up shutting down because it keeps coming back on. I can't find any pattern to this either. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

What iMac? More specifically, is this by chance an iMac G5?

You think it's the mouse?

I've got the mouse the computer came with. You think it's the mouse? I never thought of that.

Tell more. Like what's plugged in, what's not stock, what's running like a torrent or what apps.
