im in need if a computer master!!!!!

Mar 22, 2005 7:22AM PST

on windows xp sp2. i dont know what kind of sound card i have. realtek ac 97 is all that i know. i am trying to record multiple tracks of guitar through the mic input using acid pro 4.0, but for some reason when i record while playing back the first recorded track it records both me and the first track instead of just me. ive heard of other people fixing similar problems by shuting switching a "record what you hear" option to " record only mic1" in my windows volume controls, however i don't have or cant find these options in my audio menus. if anybody can walk me through this problem i would consider them the master computer whiz because ive searched the net for hours looking for this answer with no success. please list all possible fixes if there are any. thanks for the help!!!
