ILO returning to Wally today...
May 18, 2006 3:43AM PDT

This is the reply I got back from their support (www.siren.com):
_____________________________________________________

Thank you for contacting Siren Audio.

When you plug the device up to the computer, I would like for you to disconnect all other USB devices and close out all open windows on your computer. I would then like for you to right click on my computer, left click on properties, left click on the hardware tab, then left click on the device manager. Then, I would like for you to plug up you ILO and click on the plus sign next to your disk drives. When you see the ILO appear on that list, I would like for you to right click on it and then left click on properties. If the device says 'functioning properly' under the status, I would like for you to click on the option to locate a drive. If the device says 'not functioning' or 'functioning improperly', I would like for you to take the player back to the place of purchase.
Regards-

Since the only other USB devices that are connected during this process are the KB ands the Mouse, this will not work.

It goes back!

Return Policy?
May 26, 2006 2:34AM PDT

Will Walmart let you take it back for the hell of it if you dont want your mp3 player and have all of the stuff that came with it minus original packing. I returned my other ilo because of a worn headphone jack and they just gave me another ilo minus the stuff that comes with it. And a have a receipt for that return

Walmart Return Policy

hey i finally figured out the system!!! if the store is 24 hours. go late night at about 2am and return it to a cashier there is no hassle. You get friendly service and even friendlier service if you have the receipt if not they just put it on a gift card. if they say they say they only do returns at customer service try another Walmart where i live i have about 7 within less then a 50 mile radius

Again? SAVE WALMART FROM MY WRATH
Jul 22, 2006 11:45AM PDT

My (second) ilo is starting to fail and it is the same problem that my last one had, the earphone jack is messed up and i have had it for less than a month. I got it as a gift originally but i returned the actual player and got a new one. i have all of the original stuff that came with it but not the original packaging. Do you think they will let me return it for a refund, store credit, or just give me a new player? OR WILL I HAVE TO END WALMART

Help, pretty please!
Jun 28, 2006 4:47AM PDT

I have a 1 gig iLO that my parents gave me for Christmas that has decided to quit working properly. All was working fine, even after a few drops while I was still at school, but in May, when I went to turn it on one day for my sculpture class, the screen says, "Incorrect format, reformat the player." I hooked the player up to my laptop(Compaq Presario M2150, 60GB, not even a year old yet)and began to dig through my MP3's to see if I did indeed have an incorrectly formatted file. All my files were formatted properly, but I did find a corrupt file that will not delete from my system. It is a file that I uploaded via Media Player and then imported into my iLO, just like the directions said to do, and I know the disc it came from is not corrupt. I can't delete the file from the player, nor can I remove it to my laptop. I can't find any sort of web help for the daggum thing and am at the point where I'd like to return it and swap it, or upgrade to a better one. Anyone know how I can fix this? Again, it's a gift from my parents, so I don't want them to feel like they bought a crappy product, but the more I read, the more I see that maybe it wasn't a great choice...Thanks for help in advance!

I'm not sure I understand you difficulty. I suggest you copy all your files from the ILO, ignoring the one corrupt file. Then use the Windows utility to format that drive by right clicking on it and picking Format.
Then copy everything back to the drive.

In six months, I've had to reformat my ILO 1GB once.

Good luck,

Lester

ILO garbage

If I were you I would run from any walmart ilo product. I purchased their DVD HD04 and it worked for all of 4 months before crashing (yeah, 1 month past being able to take it back to the store). I sent it in 3.5 months ago for repair and they are telling me they don't make them or import them any more into the states (if that's an indication of the quality of their work). Anyway, their "tech support" is an absolute joke - I've called 8 times over 3 months trying to get it resolved and all they do is put me on hold for sometimes up to 35 minutes per call. So if you want to spend the same as other brands, get something that doesn't work, and then spend your time on hold waiting for a reply on when it will be prepared, yes, go with ilo. Otherwise burn your money in winter and at least it will keep you warm.

Don't do it
Oct 7, 2006 9:54AM PDT

I just bought an ilo mp3 from WalMart. On the 15th day, the on/off switch failed. WalMart is 60 miles from my house and I went there the following Saturday, five days later. They will only take the product back within 15 days.

Do your research...most places I compared products, the reviews for this product stank. And the on/off switch failing was a constant complaint.

Buy anything else, but this product is a terrible purchase...at any price.

Junk

The player works very good for about three to four months, then starts acting crazy. If your good with computers and electronics then this is ok as most everything I've seen so far can be fixed but it takes a while. My wife's player will stop turing on, or turn on but not get past the startup screen, it will delete songs of the player and do a variarity of other things.

I would never again buy one of these, while tring to figure out who makes it I found out that even wal-marts site only says that it's imported and made from quality parts, there's no place on the site that tells you what company produces them. I'm still going to figure it out and not buy anything else from them.
