What are the maximum number of songs my new ILO mp3 can download? I have about 35 but when I try to download more, it indicates it's full. Am I doing something wrong? I thought the max was 120 songs

Max songs on ilo bug
Feb 20, 2005 9:02AM PST

The player will recognize 120 songs eventhough you use a 512mb sd card. This is supposedly a bug that RAVE is aware of for several months but they have not created a fix for this yet. I like the player but I am thinking of returning it to Walmart since I don't see there being a fix for this anytime soon. I will probably get the Zen Micro instead.

I'm stuck at 130

Ok, I've heard many varations on this bug, I'm experiencing the problem at 130 files and it does not matter where they are at either. I've heard up to 256, I actually contacted Rave-MP about this AGAIN! It is a great player but the song bug is a pain.

ILO
Feb 18, 2005 6:25PM PST

I love my little ILO. Period. However, I'm having a problem downloading more than 35 or 40 songs. It indicates that it's full. I could be doing something wrong, not sure. But make sure you can download the max which should be around 120 songs. It has great features and offers beautiful sounds. But get headphones.

I love mine. But it is a little primative compared to some of the others. It only holds 60 songs. But it is compact and light.

Once I learned about SD cards, etc., I wouldn't part with my Ilo. However, it did take me a while to get the hang of it. I bought some 50 dollar Phillips headphones (cancels external noise)and can't ask for better sound quality.

The ilo mp3 player
Mar 19, 2005 1:30PM PST

The "ilo" mp3 player is an extremely complex device. Yes, it holds 256mb, but, there is a(n) place in the battery portion that you can put a scandisk. These measure about 1.3 inches in diameter. Also, it WILL NOT PLAY DRMS! DRMS ARE MUSIC FILES DOWNLOADED OFF OF THE INTERNET!!!! Usually at Walmart they price from $69.62 to $79.72. You can put an unlimited amount of space on it, but, from mine, instead of getting the full 256mb it only gave me 247mb. But i'm just fine with that. Well, that's all I have! Hope you enjoy it!!!

Sincerely,

Yeah I love mine too!!! I asked the company the reason for giving just 247mb, and they said it is for like you settings, and album names and such but yeah thats still alot, I've only used 184 and I pretty much have as many songs as i would want!

Had mine for a couple of weeks now
Apr 21, 2005 9:53AM PDT

It works great. It's an incredible value, especially considering the memory card slot adding so much additional storage. I took it for a ride on some local trails and it holds up well. With the new software update, the volume (which was a little too quiet)has been boosted greatly. Finally the LCD is large and readable, displaying Song Title, Artist, Album, a progress bar, and various icons for shuffle, repeat, battery life, etc.
I have not played with the tuner much, but the local classical station came in clean and clear when I did. Have not used the voice recorder at all.
I would recommend this player to anyone not needing to store gigs and gigs of music on a portable device. It has alot of features left out of more expensive players, like the Muvo Micro N200, which I was originally considering. Glad I went with the Ilo instead.

I bought my ilo about 3 weeks ago and I really enjoy it. I'm still learning some about formatting the songs and such but it plays real well and I like that it has an external card slot. I've been very happy with it.

ILO MP3 Player
May 31, 2005 2:26PM PDT

My girlfriend bought me an ILO MP3 Player from Wal-Mart and despite it looking cheap and being an "off-brand" product, this MP3 player is actually pretty damn nice!!! I like it BETTER than my Creative MuVo 256MB MP3 Player!!! It supports ID3 tagging, has a pretty cool screen, built in 5-band equalizer with presets, FM tuner, sound recorder, and has a memory card slot for up to 1GB expansion. Sound quality is pretty good and it has plenty of volume. For being an MP3 player from Wal-Mart, this thing is a pretty good product. My dad wanted a cheap 15inch LCD monitor and bought an ILO monitor also from Wal-Mart. It's the CHEAPEST 15inch we've found and has yet to have a dead or stuck pixel 4 months later. I've never heard of ILO before dealing with these 2 products but from what I've seen, I'm impressed by this cheap brand.

Bad MP3 player choice
Aug 11, 2005 1:56PM PDT

Hey, I have an Ilo MP3 player myself, and I am TOTALLY disatisfied with it. The headphone jack is currently loose, and I cant open the player up to fix it myself, PLUS, I dropped this brand of MP3 player from like, 6 inches when I was tieing my shoe, and the whole freakin screen just cracked. Im lucky I can still turn it on and listen to music, only I have to move the headphone jack around to make both ears work, and beside the fact that I cant see who Im listening to. I suggest an RCA Lyra MP3 player for 80 dollars at Wal Mart, which it has the same capabilities for the Mp3 player, minus the radio, voice recorder, and the customizable equaliser. Anyways, I was wondering what ilos main site was, so that I could send in my MP3 player and get it fixed up.

THX MUCH, Fleet

Reccommending a Lyra?!?!?!?
Aug 12, 2005 2:14AM PDT

You said that you would reccommmend a rca lyra? They are one of the worse mp3 players I have seen. One person I knew had one and it broke within like a month. I think they just kept it in a bag, the whole time. I would reccommend a creative nomad to everyone who wants flash drive players. So far when I have went with creative I havent had any problems.

Yes, I am
Aug 13, 2005 7:49AM PDT

Yes, I recommended a Lyra, and I dont care for the style either. But, your friend is messed, your not SUPPSOED to keep it in a bag, thats irresponsible. I kept mine in the wristband it came with, and its lasted for a year and 2 months now. Only reason I recommend a lyra is because its more compact, and is louder with music. Who would need a radio on there mp3 player anyways when you have your own selection of music? Thats like, the stupidest idea ever. The sound recorder is a fantastic idea if you are in college or are in an important work meeting, but otherwise, it would also be rarely used. Also, the Lyra is less of a battery hog, because it has no backlight, which I see is also unneeded, and is also less picky about the fact when you have a card inside. The ilo complains on a half battery when a card is inside, and shuts off, but the Lyra goes untill the battery finally dies. Overall, I think the Lyra is just plain better.

Can you help me PLEASE!
Jul 30, 2006 12:36PM PDT

I just got the ilo mp3 player for the birthday today.

So I tried to work it...and well i'm having problems.

I followed the easy step guide on windows media player, and i'm fine up until its time to COPY the songs onto the mp3 player...
it says ROXIO CD BURNING under "Items on Device"

Now I hvae no idea what that means or hwat it is, but its the only one that will show up under it.

Then when I click COPY it says

"The Easy CD Creator burning engine was not found on your computer. Would you like to download and install it?"

So I clicked yes and it took me here:
http://partner.roxio.com/affiliates/oem/microsoft_roxio/emc/default.aspx

It cost 50$ to get whatever that is. I'm so lost and I need help!!

Don't use Windows Media PLayer (I really hate it). Either use the software that came with it (if it came with some) or drag and drop your files right to the removable disk.

well....
Jul 31, 2006 10:45AM PDT

Well it didnt come with a software.....but the removable disc thing was there yesterday and now it has...just vanished.

This is so complicated!
It has [cHappy and [dHappy

nothing else useful or else i would put it on there...

Do not buy it
Aug 21, 2005 4:03AM PDT

I bought the ilo 256mb player and it was fine, yes, it plays music, but
1)when I hear FM radio, all of a sudden it turns off, I don't know why, but it does every time.
2)The SD/MMC cards can't be more than 512 mb.
3)I can't manage files, I have to do that while connected to the compuer, kind of like when I want to erase a recorded voice.
4)It once fell in my shoe and I could never turn it on. Sad

Troubles too - Solution for you
Dec 30, 2005 1:02PM PST

After owning a couple low-capacity MP3 players, and a new Apple iPod, I have comments and solutions for getting near the iPod user experience using non-iPod flash drive MP3 players.

The neat thing about MP3 players is that you can listen to the songs you have loaded in a random manner. The not-so-neat thing is that with limited memory on these players, you are listening to a short list of songs!

I have written a program that gives you a iPod Shuffle experience, that is, you run this program in the morning, and it can remove some or all songs on your player, and blow through your MP3 collection, and install a random selection of songs, filling up the player. It's interesting to see what's new on your player after it's done!

It can also manage your Podcasts, too.

The program, "Robert's Mp3 Loader", is released no-cost, public domain, and can be downloaded from http://users.adelphia.net/~rschoolf/mp3loader.htm

ilo mp3 player from walmart

This mp3 player is good if you only want about 40 songs. It says that it will hold 500 songs, but when I put songs on it, it would only go to about 40. Then you have to buy a memory card. I put in the memory card after I bought it, and then something happened and now it is not working. Now I trying to fix it.
