Illustrator CS2 on new macbook

Jan 9, 2008 11:19AM PST

My buddy has a 2 ghz intel duo running leopard with 1 gig of RAM. I was talking to him tonight and he says that it takes him twice as long to open up a job in Illustrator CS2, than it did on his old 1.3 G4.

I haven't done a google search for any hints yet but I thought I would ask here first if anyone might have a hint about what is going on?

Thanks in advance

Could it be that

CS2 is not Universal Binary and has to run under Rosetta on the Intel Mac?

I believe C2 was written for the PPC which would account, at least in part, for the increased speed on the G4

Just a thought.

I will pass that on.

Thanks Peter

Not having any experience with Leopard yet, is ham stringing me with some of the troubleshooting questions I get from other mac users. I just refuse to get a copy for my G4 iBook since I really need to get a new computer anyway.
