Well after lying about it for 11 years, it's about time.
by Rob_Boyter / August 1, 2014 2:56 PM PDT

What is both disgusting and bizarrely amusing is the CIA's high dudgeon (look it up) over whether in that million page documents dump they gave the House or Senate investigators, the "Panetta Investigation" was included. Having been forced to open their doors to the investigators, the CIA turned around and illegally hacked the computers of the investigators and then raised a stink that the investigators had made notes about the Panetta document which concludes as I understand it that the Bush 43 CIA, and NSA, and DOJ had been lying for the entirety of their administration, and that those remaining into the Obama era in the Three Letter Cabal have continued to do so.

At least this President has the cojones to call a spade a hand operated earth moving and excavation implement, and not a Paradise Cruise to the sunny resort of Abu Ghraib.

It was my understanding a long time ago
by Diana Forum moderator / August 1, 2014 8:08 PM PDT

that we gained more intelligence by being nice to them than by torturing them.

And it's everybody else's understanding
by TONI H / August 1, 2014 9:03 PM PDT

that BO's theory of being nice to our enemies has gotten the entire world now into craziness. And since we don't capture anybody anymore, the intelligence has nearly died away.....BO's 'lazy' attitude is to not do the hard work but rather go the easy route and just kill them.

He must be getting the intel
by Diana Forum moderator / August 2, 2014 3:01 AM PDT

on who they are and where to find them from somewhere so he can kill them.

Collapse -
So what good does it do
by TONI H / August 2, 2014 6:02 AM PDT

us to kill off the ones that can give even better information?

But...on the other hand, even when he DOES get intel like the ISIS movement from Syria going toward Iraq, he did and continues to do nothing.

(NT) Let Bush clean it up. He started it.

Good grief....Bush
by TONI H / August 2, 2014 8:25 PM PDT

DIDN'T start what's going on out pretty much began during the Beirut attack on our military compound during Reagan and had no retaliation based on bad advice from one of his advisors.....and escalated during Clinton and was ignored. BO has had his own agenda for what's happening now and CHOSE to do it HIS way with horrendous results that he will never admit to.

Are you saying that Bush didn't start two wars?
by Diana Forum moderator / August 2, 2014 11:57 PM PDT
In reply to: Good grief....Bush

And one of them definitely shouldn't have happened? And this mess would still have happened in Iraq if Bush hadn't invaded?

The two wars, Diana, didn't START
by TONI H / August 3, 2014 4:34 AM PDT

what's going on....I pointed out what DID start it. And without ANY retaliation from Reagan OR Clinton, it was allowed to escalate into 9-11. After Bush left office, things were already winding down over there and looking a hell of a lot better than it does today thanks to BO and his 'touchy-feely' blame America crap. You can't negotiate or try to play nice with people who are out to kill you no matter what you say or do, and yet BO has firmly believed all along that his silver tongue and 'coolness' and toothy grin and gutting our military would be enough to stop the craziness.

(NT) So you're saying that we should have invaded Iraq?

With the intel that we had
by TONI H / August 3, 2014 6:37 AM PDT

at that time, yes......even Democrats agreed to do that, Diana. So what's your point?

Do you know that ISIS has now taken over the largest dam in Iraq and can use it as a 'weapon of mass destruction' there by flooding cities and towns?

my viewpoint is the same

Give everyone there handguns easily concealed and let them protect themselves or kill each other.

Since when are terrorists
by TONI H / August 3, 2014 8:08 PM PDT

referred to as 'folks'? Our kinder, gentler leader is killing us.....Glenn Beck admits to having a hand in dividing our political atmosphere.....when does BO admit to it on a much larger scale?

As for 'torture'.....waterboarding was used three times, and actually got the name of the courier that allowed for the death of OBL and the capture of huge numbers of intel. Do you think that name would have turned up on the Gitmo soccer field?

Collapse -
Do you have any proof of OBL and that it was only 3 times?
by Diana Forum moderator / August 3, 2014 10:52 PM PDT

It was my understanding that just one person was waterboarded hundreds of times.

From what I remember it was
by TONI H / August 4, 2014 1:44 AM PDT

three people and collectively the three were waterboarded 267 times. What proof are you actually asking for? If it's the name of the courier, one of those waterboarded mentioned his name and it wasn't deemed important at the time because no intel had ever heard of him before....but later events proved that that name was significant.****-cheney/****-cheney-says-only-three-terror-suspects-were-e/

Politifact rates Cheney's statements as true.......
