If I only understood these things

Jun 29, 2011 12:22AM PDT

Although I do NOT understand the answers, which I have received, regarding my home computer, since I am NO computer geek, I am grateful that others have taken the time to respond to my questions.

I have decided to give up, on understanding computer tech, since I just dont understand all of the "terms", and !*#$&! abbreviations. Since computer technology does NOT operate on standard English, like we humans do, (on purpose, no-doubt), I have decided to give up on this FOREIGN language subject (which might as well be in Russian, Latin, or African) I will stay with just checking my mail, since the process, of downloading video, and other subjects, are NOT designed for the average HUMAN. They are designed totally, and solely, for high-tech, advanced degree, and multi-linguistic, computer nerds.

This is why this "normal" human is giving up on this "tech-monster". I am just fed up with constantly read about things which I do not understand, and which are created NOT to be understood, by a "simple man".

Give me a pen, and paper, anyday. THESE, I understand!

Maybe ask local support?

You might have a younger family member, or a friendly neighbour, or a good friend who can answer your question about "where is my downloaded video". After all, we don't know either where it is. And worse, we don't have access to your computer to search for it or check it's settings or even see what you do.

Good thing to do

Sounds as if you are pretty literate and understand things in writing. Well what I would recommend is to go out and get yourself one of the "COMPUTER DUMMIES" books, they are very good, I used them for DOS, WIN 95/98 and Win XP. They are well worth having, lots of people use them, they pretty much walk you through everything. Most box stores carry them, computer stores as well. They are available for all Windows operating systems and in my opinion well worth having, especially someone just starting out, you can go from page to page using the examples shown,, really pretty neat. Stay away from the tutorial CD SETS, the book is way better.

Don't fret as it becomes more and more less foreign to you if you keep at it. Yes, it may not help if the topics didn't get away from you but unfortunately that's the nature of beast. I wish better in the future.
