Interesting Trivia on Jimi.............
Nov 30, 2003 1:44PM PST

I missed this post last week Jonah Happy

Back in '61 Jimi did some work as a Studio Musician, this was before he enlisted in The 101st Airborne and became a Paratrooper. He received a medical discharge when he suffered a broken ankle in a parachute jump.

In the summer of '61 a good friend of mine was lead singer in a locally famous "Doo Wop" group.

He told me at the time that the studio musician that played guitar on their hit song was a skinny black kid wearing a Doo Rag that just sat there quiet as heck.

But when that skinny kid struck his first string, the guitar came alive and set the mood for the entire song! His playing put them all in an upbeat mood and they did the song on the first take.

I have the song in my library and it's my pleasure to post it.Listen to the wild guitar playing in the background all through the song, that's Jimi and it's some of his earliest work. You can hear the mood he put them in.

This song is a little over 42yrs old and still sounds good today.
Later,Tony

Hendrix also played guitar in Little Richard's band in the early 60s. I saw a photo once; the band were all in matching suits. Except for the left-handed guitar and his height, it would have been hard to recognize him!
